1. Forest, Grassland, and Bare Land Carbon and Energy Fluxes in Asian Ecosystems

  • CH₄, CO₂, and N₂O fluxes and exchanges, evapotranspiration, energy balance, carbon sinks and sources, restoration, degradation, land-cover change, and climate sensitivity across tropical, subtropical, temperate, and mountain forests, grasslands, and bare land ecosystems.

2. Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Fluxes and Climate-Smart Farming

  • CH₄, CO₂, and N₂O fluxes from rice paddies, croplands, agroecosystems, mitigation measures (such as alternate wetting and drying and irrigation management), food security, and low-emission agriculture in Asia.

3. Urban Carbon, Energy Balance, and Climate Resilience

  • Urban CO₂ emissions and sinks, sensible and latent heat fluxes, urban heat islands, green infrastructure, air quality–climate interactions, and low-carbon city development.

4. Land Use Change, Ecosystem Transformation, and Carbon Stock Dynamics

  • Impacts of deforestation, reforestation, urban expansion, agricultural conversion, wetland loss, and land-use/land-cover change on soil carbon stocks, carbon sequestration, ecosystem carbon dynamics, modeling, and carbon-energy exchange.

5. Coastal, Wetland, Blue Carbon, and Land–Ocean Carbon Cycling

  • Mangroves, peatlands, seagrass, seaweed cultivation, coastal wetlands, estuaries, river–ocean carbon transport, and blue carbon contributions to carbon neutrality.

6. Flux Measurement Technologies and Long-Term Observation Networks

  • Eddy covariance, chamber measurements, in situ CO₂/CH₄/N₂O monitoring and modeling, flux towers, proximal sensing, vertical profiling, autonomous platforms, and next-generation sensors.

  • Using direct flux measurements and flux research to support carbon neutrality pathways, greenhouse gas inventories, MRV systems, carbon credit development, policy implementation, stakeholder engagement, and public communication across Asia.
